Chef Alexander Shopov

Alexander Shopov , with almost a decade of professional experience in the kitchen, is part of the new generation of Bulgarian chefs whose goal is to rethink and develop the national gastronomy.
He began his journey as a chef at the age of 14, driven by strong passion, discipline and a desire to develop. Today, he holds a management position in a luxury restaurant, where he works at a high professional level and develops his own style in contemporary cuisine.
He graduated from higher education in "Gastronomy and Culinary Arts" with a focus on management in Varna, and is currently continuing his studies as a master's degree at the University of Economics - Varna.
For him, modern gastronomy requires a combination of culinary skills, strategic thinking, and sustainable management.
His professional experience includes international internships in Spain and France, which played a key role in shaping his philosophy. In Spain, he worked at the Moli de la Escala restaurant, and in France, at the Jean-Yves Schillinger , a two-Michelin-starred restaurant, where he learned precision, discipline and a deep respect for the product and tradition.
His strongest inspiration comes from the Black Sea Coast and Dobrudja – the regions with which he is deeply connected and in which he grew up. It is they who shape his understanding of seasonality, pure product and authentic taste. Through the project “New Bulgarian Cuisine”, he has a clear mission to contribute to the revival of Bulgarian gastronomy by showing that native cuisine can be modern, elegant and recognizable on the world stage.
